Star of the East is one of Cornell and Diehl's best selling English blends and one of the more committed Latakia expressions in their catalog. The blend starts with a 50% Latakia base, which is a generous proportion that puts it firmly in the Latakia-forward category without tipping into outright Latakia bomb territory. Turkish leaf adds the exotic floral and spice character that gives the blend its name and its complexity, and stoved red Virginia provides sweetness and body to round out the profile and keep the blend from becoming austere. No flavorings, no condiments. Ribbon cut. Full in body. Medium in strength.
