Cuesta Rey No.60

By J.C. Newman

J.C. Newman introduced the Cuesta Rey Cabinet Selection in 1958, and the No. 95 that launched it made history twice over: the first numbered cigar on the market, and the first to use a genuine African Cameroon wrapper. The Centenario collection carries that legacy forward, named for the brand's century-plus history, which traces back to its origins in Cuba before production moved to the Dominican Republic. Each cigar is filled with Cuban seed Dominican long filler tobacco aged up to five years in a specially designed cedar holding room, then bunched with a Dominican binder before rolling. The Natural wraps that bunch in a Connecticut Shade leaf, giving the finished cigar a smooth, creamy character. Mild to medium in body. Made at Tabacalera A. Fuente in the Dominican Republic.
