Rojo was released alongside the Oscuro in 2024, the two forming a pair meant to honor Hoyo de Monterrey's nearly sixty year history in Honduras while pointing the brand forward. Where the Oscuro broke tradition with a Brazilian wrapper, the Rojo stays closer to home, built around a wrapper from the Jamastran Valley, the region most closely associated with Hoyo's Honduran identity. The wrapper is Honduran Jamastran over a Nicaraguan binder, with long-leaf filler from Honduras, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic. Three sizes, 10-count boxes. Medium in body. Made at the HATSA factory in Danlí, Honduras.
