Brand
Hoyo De Monterrey
By Hoyo De Monterrey
Hoyo de Monterrey has been rooted in Honduran cigar making for nearly sixty years, one of the first Cuban expatriate brands to establish itself there, and the Oscuro released in 2024 as a deliberate look forward while paying tribute to that foundation. It marked the first time in the brand's history that a Hoyo cigar used a Brazilian Mata Fina wrapper, a departure that General Cigar framed as balancing tradition against where the category is headed. The wrapper is Brazilian Mata Fina Oscuro over an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder, with long-leaf filler from the Dominican Republic, Honduras, and Nicaragua. Three sizes, 10-count boxes. Medium plus in body. Made at the HATSA factory in Danlí, Honduras.
