La Historia

By E.P. Carrillo

La Historia was the first box-pressed cigar Ernesto Perez Carrillo ever released and the first entry in what he calls the Perez-Carrillo Series, a group of blends built from generations of family knowledge that are the only cigars allowed to carry the Perez-Carrillo name. Each size in the line is named for a member of the family, a deliberate choice that makes the tribute specific rather than ceremonial. The E-III earned Cigar Aficionado's number two Cigar of the Year in 2014 with a 95 rating, and the blend has continued to appear on top annual lists in the years since. The wrapper is a dark Mexican San Andrés over an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder, with long-leaf filler from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. All sizes box pressed. Medium to full in body. Made at Casa Carrillo in the Dominican Republic.
