Tabak Negra

By Drew Estate

The Negra is the bolder half of the Tabak Especial line, added when the brand broke away from its Kahlúa origins in 2007 to give smokers a darker, more intense expression alongside the original Connecticut-wrapped Dulce. Where the Dulce reads as café con leche, the Negra leans toward dark-roasted espresso, with the Mexican San Andrés Maduro wrapper aged two years before rolling adding depth and earthiness that the shade wrapper does not deliver. The wrapper is a two-year-aged Mexican San Andrés Maduro over a Sumatran binder and Nicaraguan long-leaf Criollo filler, infused with fair trade Nicaraguan estate coffee from Jinotega and Matagalpa. Each size features an open shaggy foot. Medium in body. Made at La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate in Estelí, Nicaragua.
