Whiskey Row Sherry

By Diesel

The Sherry Cask arrived as a follow-up to the Whiskey Row bourbon, and the barrel lineage behind it is a bit more traveled. The casks originally held 30-year-old Pedro Ximénez Sherry, were then sent to Rabbit Hole Distillery to produce their PX Sherry Finish Bourbon, and then shipped on to Tabacalera A.J. Fernandez in Estelí. The Brazilian Arapiraca binder was aged in those casks, making it the third life for the same wood. The wrapper is Connecticut Broadleaf and the filler is Nicaraguan, with the barrel-aged Arapiraca binder doing most of the distinguishing work. Like the bourbon version, the barrel influence reads as character rather than infusion. Medium in body. Made at Tabacalera A.J. Fernandez in Estelí, Nicaragua.
