The Riviera arrived in 2023 as the first new regular production Cohiba from General Cigar since 2020, and it broke with tradition in several ways at once. It is the first Cohiba to use a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, the first box-pressed Cohiba, the first with no Dominican tobacco in the blend at all, and the first to be made in Nicaragua rather than at the Dominican factory where nearly all General Cohiba cigars are produced. The wrapper is a Mexican San Andrés Tuxtla leaf over a Honduran Connecticut binder, with a four region filler drawing from Honduran Jamastran, Honduran La Entrada, Nicaraguan Condega, and Nicaraguan Estelí. Ranked number 20 on Cigar Aficionado's Top 25 for 2024. Medium to full in body. Made at the STG Estelí factory in Nicaragua.
