The CAO Gold was among the first cigars the brand released when founder Cano Ozgener expanded from pipe tobacco into premium handmades, and it remains one of the longest-running blends in the CAO portfolio. Where most of the CAO catalog leans toward bold and adventurous, the Gold is the line's deliberate counterpoint, built for consistency and approachability rather than intensity. The wrapper is an Ecuadorian Connecticut seed shade-grown leaf, golden and silky, over a Cuban-seed Nicaraguan binder and long-leaf Nicaraguan filler. Rated 91 by Cigar Aficionado on multiple occasions. Mild to medium in body. Made in Nicaragua.
