Columbia

By CAO

Cuban seed tobacco has been growing in Colombia since the early nineteenth century, but the leaf rarely made it into premium cigars. The variety CAO built this blend around is called Ica Mazinga, cultivated in the Montes de Maria mountains near the Colombian Caribbean coast, and it took roughly fifteen years of development before master blender Rick Rodriguez considered it ready. CAO Colombia was released in 2014 as part of the brand's World series, the first cigar to feature Ica Mazinga as a primary component. The filler pairs that Colombian leaf with Brazilian Mata Fina, bound in a Cameroon binder and finished in a Nicaraguan Jamastran Rosado wrapper. Rated 92 by Cigar Aficionado and named their Best Buy under six dollars in 2015. Medium in body. Made in Nicaragua.
