Brazilia

By CAO

When CAO began searching for Brazilian wrapper tobacco at the tail end of the 1990s cigar boom, Brazilian leaf was not a priority for most growers and the quality was inconsistent. After five years of searching, they found what they were looking for in the Bahia region, a dark, oily Arapiraca wrapper that became the foundation of the Brazilia. Introduced in 2001, it was the first mass-produced cigar to use a Brazilian Arapiraca wrapper and is widely credited with sparking renewed industry interest in Brazilian leaf, as other manufacturers followed CAO into the Bahia region in the years that followed. The blend pairs that Arapiraca wrapper with a Nicaraguan binder and aged Nicaraguan long-leaf filler. Rated 91 by Cigar Aficionado. Full in body. Made in Honduras.
