Quiet Nights is the best selling blend in the G.L. Pease catalog and is widely considered Gregory Pease's defining work. Part of the Old London Series, it is built on ripe red Virginias, fine Oriental leaf, Cyprian Latakia, and a pinch of Acadian Perique. The whole mixture is pressed and matured in cakes before being sliced into flakes, a process that allows the components to marry over time and develop a cohesion that blending alone does not produce. The Cyprian Latakia is the structural backbone of the blend, present and unmistakable without crowding out the Virginia sweetness or the Oriental complexity underneath it. The Perique is genuinely subtle here, contributing depth at the edges rather than asserting itself as a distinct element. It is a full flavored, medium strength smoke that rewards patience and ages exceptionally well. Pressed flake. The kind of blend people set aside in quantity.
