Oriental Silk takes an approach that sets it apart from most Oriental-forward blends: there is no Latakia anywhere in the blend, which means the Turkish leaf has to carry the exotic character on its own without the smoky backdrop that Latakia typically provides in English-style mixtures. The result is brighter and more floral than a standard English blend, with the Turkish doing its work through spice, incense, and a distinctive mouth tingle rather than smoke and leather. Bright Virginia flake and bright Virginia ribbon provide sweetness and body, and Perique adds its characteristic peppery depth and dark fruit in the background. No flavorings, no casings. Ribbon cut. Medium in strength.
