Valle Verde

By Partagas

Partagas is one of the oldest cigar brands in the world, tracing its roots back to 1845 in Havana. For most of that history, the brand built its reputation on Cameroon leaf, which became so closely associated with the Partagas name that it is essentially synonymous with it. The Valle Verde keeps that tradition intact by using a vintage 2015 Cameroon as the binder, but breaks new ground everywhere else. Named for the Green Valley growing region in the state of Veracruz, Mexico, this cigar marks the first time a Partagas has ever been released with a Mexican San Andrés wrapper. The Valle Verde region sits at elevation along the Gulf of Mexico, where a cooler climate and volcanic soil produce a lighter-colored San Andrés leaf that behaves differently than the dark, heavy wrappers the variety is typically known for. The filler rounds out the blend with additional Mexican San Andrés alongside Nicaraguan tobaccos from Jalapa and Estelí, all from the 2020 harvest. Rolled at the HATSA factory in Danlí, Honduras, it is a medium-bodied cigar that earns its place in the Partagas lineup.
