Sarzedas is a true revival. The name dates back to 1900, when JC Newman first rolled the line and marketed it as “The Aromatic Cigar.” The company reintroduced it in 2025, once again tying modern production to its early history. Rolled at JC Newman’s PENSA factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, Sarzedas bridges the company’s Tampa roots with the craftsmanship of its contemporary Nicaraguan operation. The blend was designed as a flavorful, balanced cigar rather than a niche project. Created by Rich Dolak, JC Newman’s longtime operations vice president, it uses an Ecuadorian Shade wrapper over Dominican and Nicaraguan binder and filler. The result is a smooth, aromatic cigar that honors the brand’s origins while offering the refinement and consistency expected from JC Newman today.
