Highclere Castle Victorian

By Foundation

Highclere Castle takes its name from the English estate made famous by Downton Abbey, and the Victorian follows the original Edwardian blend as a tribute to a different era at the castle: the reign of Queen Victoria, when the estate underwent significant expansion and smoking rooms became fashionable in grand country homes across England. Foundation partnered with A.J. Fernandez on the blend, and while it shares the Brazilian Mata Fina binder and all-Nicaraguan filler with the Edwardian, the wrapper is a higher priming Ecuadorian Habano rather than the milder Connecticut Shade, giving the Victorian a darker appearance and a noticeably bolder profile. The wrapper is Ecuadorian Habano-seed, over a Brazilian Mata Fina binder, with filler drawn entirely from Nicaragua. 20-count dress boxes with Victorian era artwork. Full in body. Made at Tabacalera A.J. Fernandez in Estelí, Nicaragua.
