The Foundation Aksum Maduro is a medium to full-bodied cigar crafted by Nick Melillo of Foundation Cigars. This blend features a dark Ecuadorian Sumatra-seed wrapper, a USA Connecticut Broadleaf binder, and Nicaraguan fillers from Estelí and Jalapa. Handmade at AJ Fernandez’s Tabacalera Fernandez factory in Nicaragua, the Aksum Maduro offers a refined smoking experience. Previously known as Metapa, the Aksum Maduro pays homage to the ancient Aksumite Kingdom, believed to be the resting place of the Ark of the Covenant. The cigar’s band features an image of Ras Makonnen, father of Haile Selassie, aligning with Foundation's tradition of incorporating historical and cultural themes into their branding.
