El Rey del Mundo traces its Cuban roots back to 1848, making it one of the oldest cigar brand names still in production. The non-Cuban version has been made in Honduras since the brand was revitalized in the 1990s under Frank Llaneza's direction, and when STG moved it into the Forged Cigar Company portfolio in 2021 the Honduran identity stayed intact. The Oscuro is the bolder of the two core blends, built as a Honduran puro with the Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper adding the darkest expression the line offers. The wrapper is Connecticut Broadleaf over an all-Honduran binder and long-leaf filler. Five sizes, 20-count boxes except the Café Noir cigarillo which comes in 24-count boxes. Medium in body. Made at the HATSA factory in Danlí, Honduras.
