ACID launched in 1998 when Jonathan Drew and Marvin Samel set up shop in Estelí and started curing tobacco in rooms lined with over 150 essential oils, botanicals, and herbs. The process, which Drew Estate calls the cuarto aromático method, is what separates the line from other infused products: the tobacco absorbs the aromatic environment over months of aging rather than being sprayed or dipped. The Blondie is the most widely recognized cigar in the portfolio and one of the bestselling infused cigars in the country. The blend uses a Connecticut shade wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler, in a 4x38 petit corona with a pigtail cap and a sweetened cap seal. It smokes sweet, aromatic, and mild, with the infusion reading as floral and herbal rather than candy. Mild in body. Made at La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate in Estelí, Nicaragua.
