MX2 stands for Maduro times two, and the name is the entire concept. CAO introduced the blend in 2003 as part of what became an informal series of cigars built around doubling a single leaf type, the same logic later applied to BX3. Rather than simply selecting a dark wrapper, the blend layers two distinct maduro leaves: a Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro on the outside and a spicy Brazilian Maduro used as the binder. The filler draws from Nicaragua, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, and Peru. Medium to full in body. Made in Nicaragua.
