Italy has been growing Cuban Habano seed tobacco in the Benevento region, in the southern part of the country between Rome and Naples, for more than fifty years. Before CAO Italia, that leaf was used almost exclusively in machine-made cigars. Premium yields from Italian soil were too limited and inconsistent to justify hand-rolling. CAO sourced enough to build a filler blend around it, pairing the Italian leaf with Nicaraguan and Peruvian tobacco, and the result was one of the only premium handmade cigars in the world to use Italian-grown filler as a primary component. The wrapper and binder are both Habano-seed leaf grown in Honduras. Rated 92 by Cigar Aficionado. Medium to full in body. Made in Nicaragua.
