Triple Maduro

By Camacho

The Triple Maduro originated with a conversation between Christian Eiroa and Sal Fontana, Camacho's longtime sales director and consigliere, who had the idea of building a cigar in which every component, wrapper, binder, and filler, was maduro tobacco. Eiroa's first response was that it couldn't be done. Fontana persisted. Eiroa and his father Julio went to work on it, and after more than 80 blending attempts, they got it right. Introduced in 2007, it was the first all-maduro cigar in the premium cigar industry. The wrapper is a dark, oily Mexican San Andrés Maduro leaf over a Corojo and Honduran Maduro binder, with Maduro long-leaf filler drawing from Honduras, the Dominican Republic, and Brazil. Medium to full in body. Made at the Diadema Cigars de Honduras factory in Danlí, Honduras.
