The Hemingway Sungrown swaps the traditional Cameroon wrapper for an Ecuadorian sun grown leaf grown from habano seed, sourced through Oliva Tobacco Company. Sun grown tobacco develops thicker, darker leaves than shade grown varieties due to direct sun exposure, and the Ecuadorian growing conditions produce a wrapper with a notably darker color and fuller character than the Cameroon it replaces. The aged Dominican binder and filler underneath remain the same as the rest of the Hemingway line. The Classic is a Churchill perfecto at 7 x 46, the largest vitola in the standard Hemingway lineup. The Sungrown is released in limited quantities annually and runs somewhat fuller in character than the natural Cameroon version. Handmade in the Dominican Republic.
