Hemingway Classic Maduro

By Arturo Fuente

The Arturo Fuente Hemingway series was among the first modern lines to reintroduce the classic Cuban perfecto shape to the American market at scale. Perfectos require considerably more skill to roll than straight vitolas and were largely absent from Dominican production until the Fuente family made them the foundation of this line. The series is named after Ernest Hemingway, whose spare, deliberate style the cigars are meant to evoke. The Maduro variant swaps the signature African Cameroon wrapper of the standard Hemingway for a Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro, while keeping the same aged Dominican binder and filler underneath. The Broadleaf is a thick, naturally sweet leaf that ferments to a deep brown and contributes a heavier body and additional complexity compared to the Cameroon. The Maduro is released in limited quantities seasonally, generally around Father's Day and the holidays, making it considerably harder to find than the standard line. Handmade in the Dominican Republic. Medium strength.
