Eye of The Bull

The Don Carlos Eye of the Bull had an unusual introduction. When Arturo Fuente debuted it at the 2022 PCA Convention, Carlos Fuente Jr. personally asked those who saw it not to discuss it publicly. The cigar was on display but unfinished, and the request for silence only heightened the anticipation. It returned the following year as the centerpiece of the Fuente booth at the 2023 PCA, available exclusively to retailers who placed orders on site. That kind of controlled release is characteristic of how the Fuente family manages their most significant work. The cigar is a personal project of Ciro Cascella, executive president of Arturo Fuente International, who spent several years developing it. It uses the established Don Carlos blend, an aged Dominican binder and filler under an African Cameroon wrapper, but applies it to a 3.5 x 55 short robusto format. The most visually distinctive feature is the dark tobacco accent applied to the cap, which creates the literal bull's eye the name references. The compact size concentrates the blend and delivers more body than typical Don Carlos vitolas. Handmade in the Dominican Republic.
