In March 2025 a fire broke out at Tabacalera A.J. Fernandez Cigars de Nicaragua in Estelí, the factory where Fernandez built his reputation and produces much of his portfolio. The response from the industry was immediate. Amar is his acknowledgment of that. The name carries two meanings at once: the Spanish word for love and the Arabic word for moon, a reference to Abdel Fernandez's dual Cuban and Lebanese heritage that makes the gratitude feel personal rather than ceremonial. The cigar is a Nicaraguan puro, Habano wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler from Fernandez's own estate farms, and is produced at his San Lotano factory in Ocotal rather than the Estelí facility. Four sizes: Robusto, Toro, Gordo, and a 6.5x50 Torito. Medium to full in body. Made at the San Lotano factory in Ocotal, Nicaragua.
